Buffalo Bills fans were sent into a brief moment of panic in the aftermath of their huge Sunday win over the Detroit Lions when quarterback Josh Allen had x-rays taken.
It’s unclear what body part Allen needed examining, but the Bills quarterback felt the need to get himself checked by medical staff after taking a ‘funky fall’, according to ESPN’s Jeff Darlington.
Fortunately for Bills fans, there wasn’t any reason for concern after the x-rays were taken and Allen does not have any broken bones.
After a week where Allen dominated the Los Angeles Rams – but couldn’t find a victory – he once again shone bright for the Bills.
Allen completed 23-of-34 passes for 362 yards and two touchdowns in the 48-42 win over Detroit in hostile territory.
Not only did he lead with his arm, he led with his feet as well – rushing 11 times for 68 yards and two touchdowns.
Buffalo running back James Cook also scored two rushing touchdowns on 14 carries for 105 yards.
For Detroit, Jared Goff wouldn’t let Allen steal the spotlight. Goff completed 38-of-59 passes for 494 yards and a whopping five touchdowns.
According to CBS, Goff became the first player in NFL history to lose a game despite throwing for over 400 yards, five touchdowns, and no interceptions.
Detroit fans went home sad as their league-best eleven game win streak came to a close. They’ll look to get back on the right track on the road against the Chicago Bears next Sunday.
As for the AFC East-champion Bills, they host the New England Patriots next week.
